Daniel graduated from Boston College in 2014 with degrees in developmental psychology and film studies, and completed his MA in journalism at American University in 2021. 

He writes in English and Spanish and has bylines in Baltimore Brew, NACLA (North American Congress on Latin America), Mundo Latino, and Catholic Review covering mostly immigration and immigrant issues.

As a freelance filmmaker and photographer, he has helped non-profit organizations tell their stories visually and collaborated with musicians and artists to create visual content.
